5 reasons why ‘Assassin’s Creed Origins’ is going to be great!

The Assassin’s Creed game franchise has always been one of my favourites. It has everything I love in a game; an open world but there’s still a story to follow, satisfying stunts, a mixture of stealth and combat, adventure and some stunning visuals!

Ezio Auditore’s story is everything Assassin’s Creed should be and unfortunately, the most recent games just don’t live up to this greatness. However, I think Assassin’s Creed Origins may change this.

Ubisoft has just released the first trailer and gameplay for Origins at E3 2017 and it looks stunning. What do you think?

Here are the 5 reasons why I think this game will be up there with the best!

1. The time period

Origins is set in Ancient Egypt; what an amazing time period to explore! The visuals look absolutely stunning and there is so much to discover. One thing that makes assassins creed so exciting is the ability to delve deep into eras from the past. Origins’ time period has to be one of the most interesting and extraordinary places to have an adventure.

2. A year’s break

Last year was the first year since the first AC game that Ubisoft didn’t release a new one, which means they’ve had more time to spend perfecting Origins. The most recent releases were a bit of a mess due to being rushed to be completed for the usual yearly release date and suffered from a lot of glitches. Hopefully taking an extra year to work on this one means it’ll be of a high quality with minimal problems!

3. The developers

The team behind Origins is the same team who were behind the three Ezio Auditore games and Black Flag. Ubisoft Montreal is back for Origins and if those four games are anything to go by, the new AC is going to be impressive!

4. The wild beasts

Lions, hippos, crocodiles and giant snakes – the wildlife is not lacking! Not only will you have to watch out for your enemies, you’ll have to make sure you don’t get eaten by a crocodile – awesome!

5. The New ‘Eagle Vision’

We now literally have eagle vision! Origins has introduced an eagle companion who can fly over camps and spy on your enemies. The new and interesting feature fits perfectly with the game’s concept and expands the eagle vision to a new height.

As you can tell, I’m pretty excited about this game. It’ll be released on 27/10/2017 (only 4 months to go!) and will be available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. In the meantime, take a look at the official gameplay below and let me know what you think!

‘Top 5’ Greatest Harry Potter Characters

Here are my ‘Top 5’ greatest characters from one of the biggest film franchises in the world. I have grown up with Harry Potter and there are just so many great characters to choose from. Hardest. Decision. Ever.

*Warning – contains spoilers if you haven’t seen all the films/read all the books*

5. Harry Potter

Character_Profile_image_Harry_PotterAlthough there were times when I was reading the books I’d wish he’d stop moaning and just get on with it (which is unfair of me considering his circumstances), Harry had to make the list. He is the protagonist and hero of the story and his loyalty to his friends and bravery throughout the franchise is outstanding. It takes an extremely strong and courageous person to go willingly to what they truly believe is their own death.

4. Dobby

dobbyDobby is possibly the most loveable character in the series. Popping up a lot more in the books, he shows his loyalty and devotion to Harry; always being there to help him out when he needed him. The selfless hero saves Harry and his friends multiple times throughout the series, which ultimately ends in his death in the final installment – a heartwrenching scene. The brave house-elf brings so much joy to the dark storyline.

3. Luna Lovegood

LunaLovegoodAs a fellow Ravenclaw, I can really appreciate Luna’s quirkiness. Talking about Crumple-Horned Snorkacks and reading the magazine ‘The Quibbler’ upside down are just some of Luna’s unusual qualities. She is one of the more entertaining characters in the series and doesn’t let anyone knock her eccentric beliefs. However odd she may be, Luna steps up when her friends need her and is one of the strong and brave female characters in the series – well deserving of a place in the top five.

2. Bellatrix Lestrange

BellatrixLestrangeMy favourite villain. Bellatrix Lestrange is an extraordinarily powerful and dangerous witch. She was extremely proud of her status as being Lord Voldemort’s most loyal follower and took her position very seriously. Bellatrix is a truly evil character and the way Helena Bonham Carter portrays her twisted personality is simply genius. The sadistic Death Eater would stop at nothing to follow her obsession with blood purity – even murdering her own cousin, Sirius Black. A simply hateful witch, but so brilliantly brought to life by one of my favourite actresses.

1. Severus Snape

SnapeThere are many popular lines from the franchise, but this is up there with the best. Severus Snape spends almost the whole franchise as someone Harry hates and distrusts when in reality he is one of the greatest heroes in the story. Snape is an extremely deep, but mysterious character and the late Alan Rickman was perfect in portraying him. He brought layers of emotion to the character and gave an amazing performance. The eventual revelation of his unrequited love for Harry’s mother, Lily and all he has done to keep her son and other Hogwart’s students safe from Voldemort is nothing short of heroic. He deserves the number one spot!
